As part of his NHS commitments as a consultant he works at the Royal Free Hospital in Hampstead, and Mount Vernon Hospital in Northwood. He deals with most aspects of plastic surgery, but his areas of specialist interest are skin cancers, and all aspects of hand surgery, including children born with congenital abnormalities. He has had extensive training in hand surgery in Edinburgh, Newcastle and London, culminating in a Fellowship in paediatric hand surgery at Great Ormond Street Hospital.
He also has a private practice based at three hospitals in central and northwest London. He works at Bishopswood Hospital in Northwood, Hospital of St. John and St Elizabeth in St Johns’ Wood, and Clementine Churchill Hospital in Harrow.

Mole removal / Skin cancer
Neil Toft specializes in plastic surgery of the skin including treatment of scars. This ranges from simple benign mole removal to excision of skin cancer and reconstruction either by direct closure of the wound or more complex procedures including skin grafting and flap reconstruction to achieve an optimal cosmetic result. He has extensive experience of treating keloid or unsightly scars.
Neil Toft is one of the most experienced hand surgeons in London. He has been the head of the Hand Trauma Service at the Royal Free Hospital for over ten years. Over the last 14 years most of his work on the NHS has been dealing with emergency and elective hand surgery in both adults and children. He regularly teaches and supervises trainee hand surgeons who are on the Pan Thames plastic surgery training programme. He is a full member of the British Society for Surgery of the Hand (BSSH) and attends regular scientific hand surgery meetings.
